This is a new documentary about the seven-year long journey to restore a crumbling mansion in Mays Street. It is the sixth in a series made by Devonport Heritage about restorations in and around Devonport.

After suffering decades of neglect the house was bought by a Russian immigrant in 2012 and the film follows the army of builders, craftsmen, architect and landscapers as they work on the restoration.

It highlights the fascinating early New Zealand story of the Ford family who built the once grand Flagstaff House in 1890. The film begins in 2012 when it had become a sad ruin.

There will be a Q&A after the film with the architect and film-maker.

This is our major fund-raiser event so please support our campaign to save Devonport and take this early booking opportunity.
